Tips
Make one option more likely
Repeat it. Each line is its own slice, so a list with “Pizza” twice and “Salad” once gives pizza a 2 in 3 chance. The editor tells you when a list contains repeats, so it never happens by accident.
Paste from a spreadsheet
Copy a single column of cells and paste it into the list. Each cell becomes a line. If you paste a comma-separated line instead, the editor offers to split it into separate entries.
Share a list without an account
Use Share under the list. The entries are packed into the link itself, so whoever opens it gets the same wheel and nothing is uploaded. Because the list is in the link, only share it with people who should see it.
Large lists
The wheel holds up to 1,000 entries. Past about 90, slices get too thin to label, so the wheel shows colors only, but the result always shows the full entry.
Questions
Is the wheel actually random?
Yes, within the limits of your browser’s secure random number generator, which is the same kind used for encryption. Random also means streaky: the same entry can win twice in a row, and over a few spins the results won’t look evenly spread.
Can I pick more than one winner?
Spin, choose Remove to take the winner off the wheel, and spin again. The Results tab lists every result from this visit in order.
Where is my list saved?
Only in this browser, on this device. Each wheel page remembers its own list. Nothing is sent to a server. See the privacy page for details.
Does it work without sound or animation?
Yes. Sound is off until you turn it on with the Sound button under the wheel. If your device is set to reduce motion, the wheel skips the animation and shows the result straight away. The result is always shown as text and announced to screen readers.
